Who we are: Under the leadership of Chief Chris Aponte, The Harrods Creek Fire Protection District serves approximately 20 square miles of Eastern Jefferson County.  We are a combination fire department, made up of  approximately 40 volunteer, 18 career, and several part time firefighters, both male and female.  Our firefighters either live or work in our district and come from all walks of life. The Harrods Creek Fire Protection District has two modern fire stations that house some of the most sophisticated equipment considered necessary for today's fire fighting demands. Four engines, two quints, one with a 75’ telescoping water way and aerial ladder,  and one with a 100’ aerial platform; a fully equipped rescue truck, two small Zodiac inflatable rescue boats, 38' fire-rescue boat and five command and service vehicles can be pressed into service within minutes to serve those in need.  Station One is located at 8905 U.S. Highway 42 and Station Two is located at 5230 River Road.
