04/19/06

      HCFD responded as mutual aid with North Oldham to a house fire.  Upon arrival crews found an attic fire that had spread to the outside corner of the garage.  Crews had the fire knocked down in about ten minutes and checked for extension.  As engine 1235 was clearing the air they were dispatched on a structure fire in their district.

      HCFD responded to a report of an MVA with a rescue on River Rd. near Rockledge.  Upon arrival engine 1235 found a single vehicle which had hit three trees sitting upright in the middle of the road.  The driver was entrapped in the vehicle.  Crews had to remove the right side of the vehicle and roll the dash board to remove the victim.  The victim was freed in about twenty minutes.  Engine 1232 and Quint 1256 also responded.

04/19/06

     HCFD responded to a structure fire in an apartment complex.  Upon arrival Truck 1257 and Engine 2633 from St. Matthews found a working fire in two second floor apartments.  Engine 2633 made an initial attack while Truck 1257 laid backup lines and began aerial operations.  It took crews approximately 45 minutes to get the blaze under control.  Other units on scene were Quint 1256, Engine 1235, Engine 1233, and Engine 2634.

        Truck 1257 responded as mutual aid with St. Mathews to a report of a structure fire.  Upon arrival crews found a fire on the exterior of a house.  The fire was quickly extinguished and 1257 was released.

04/20/06

         Rescue 1281 and boat 1292 responded as part of the Jefferson County Water Rescue team to the Salt River in Shepherdsville, KY.  The teams was dispatched to search for a victim who fell off of an overpass.  Crews searched that evening and the next morning.  The search came up negative and the water rescue team was released.  The operation was then turned into a recovery situation.
