Harrods Creek Fire Protection District took delivery of Unit 1256 in April of 2000 to replace the old 1256 . The new 1256 was designed specifically to access areas of the district that most aerial apparatus can not. Harrods Creek's district has many neighborhoods with very tight streets and trees hanging low over the roadway. With this apparatus we can maneuver through the tight neighborhoods to get access to fires and still have a 75' aerial with a waterway to work with. Unit 1256 has a tighter turning radius than a ford F-350 pick up truck. 1256 has a 10kW generator with a 300' cord reel, automatic tire chains, an enclosed cab that carries five crew members, a 75' aerial with a waterway capable of delivering 1200 GPM. 1256 has a Waterous World pump with a 500 gallon booster tank. It carries 700' of 1.75" hose, 200' of 2.5" hose, 500' of 3" hose and 970' of 5" hose. |
